![]() ![]() Another study undertaken by Doctor Robert Peters of Maryland University showed that heart attacks peak on Mondays. ![]() A recent survey of 11 000 workers, commissioned by the consultancy Mercer, found that employees are more likely to be ill or take time off at the start of the week, with 35% of all sick days falling on a Monday. “After a few days out of the routine, it can feel jarring and overwhelming to jump back into the workday world,” says Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project. Even when you love your job – and especially if you don’t! – it can be hard to go back to work when the weekend has come to an end. For most of us, Mondays mean waking to a familiar sense of gloom as we return to the stresses and demands of work.
